Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop methods and procedures for scheduling of finished goods to support customer demand and minimizing cost impacts to the Company
  • Develop and maintain transportation system for domestic and international freight that ensures business needs are met
  • Ensure Company compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation
  • Resolve issues pertaining to shipments of finished goods
  • Ensure the Logistics department complies with ISO 9002 requirements
  • Coordinate and oversee departmental policy, standards, and procedures
  • Oversee VOC (voice of customer) for the company and provide root cause analysis with solutions
  • Assists Manager and negotiates contracts for 3rd party warehousing
  • Assists Manager with 3rd party warehouse management including logistic support, on time shipping reporting, cycle count reporting, and VOC (voice of customer) reporting and solutions planning
  • Educated and able to inform company with the most up to date on Incoterms for all shipments
  • Evaluates the freight cost and on time delivery by working with freight forwarder services to satisfy company and customer requirement
  • Assist Manager to manage and negotiate contracts with TL, LTL, and other carriers for inbound and outbound freight
  • Creates and maintains vendor report cards for the purpose of measuring vendor performance and communicating deficiencies
  • Gains working knowledge of various carrier's operations to determine most efficient approach that will minimize handling during shipping
  • Knowledgeable in maintaining PO management carrier systems
  • Freight invoice auditing and processing
  • Shipping container volume calculations to include freight quoting
  • Interpret big box retail shipping requirements and apply to company processes to ensure compliance
  • Provides monthly KPI (key performance Indicator) reports to management including status of projects
  • Assigns, directs and monitors daily work progress for direct reports
  • Establishes and maintains employee goals consistent with overall business objectives and conducts employee performance reviews per company policy
  • Provides coaching, mentoring and employee career development
  • Evaluates organizational effectiveness and implements improvements as necessary
  • Ensures all department projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives
  • Other Duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s or 3 years with a Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Logistics Management/ Leadership role
  • Knowledge and Experience with International Shipping (Incoterms)
  • Previous experience with shipping Hazardous Materials
  • Experience negotiating contracts from Freight forwarders
  • Strong experience using Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PPT, etc.), Pivots, graphing, advanced formulas
  • Extensive data analytic skills
