The Nuclear Medicine/PET/CT Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic procedures under the supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer and Physician. Assists Physicians with performing and viewing Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures by preparing and positioning patients for scanning; prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals, and operates nuclear medicine instruments, nuclear medicine imaging equipment to include PET/CT imaging equipment. Responsible for using radiation safety practices and performing the required quality control procedures on all nuclear medicine and CT equipment. Procedures performed include preparation, administration, documentation and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals with strict adherence to the principles of radiation safety, the conditions of the Radioactive Materials License and all California State and Federal regulatory requirements. Assists staff with providing care to patients, who have been administered radiopharmaceuticals and the safe and appropriate disposal of radioactive waste. Maintains own clinical competency and mandatory requirements.

This is a Full Time, variable days of the week including weekends, with variable start times. Located at the Scripps Shiley Pavilion in La Jolla.

This position is offering a New Hire Retention Incentive in the amount of $5,000.00. This is a taxable bonus that is paid out in two installments where $2,500.00 will be paid out after 6 months, and the remaining $2,500.00 will be paid out after 12 months. You must be employed in the position at the time of payout in order to be eligible for the bonus.
