The Product Manager leads product strategy for the company’s power management products and is responsible for defining the overall product and brand portfolio strategy, leading the product management function during development of new products, defining the go to market strategies, and managing the lifecycle of products already in the market. The Product Manager has a detailed and in-depth knowledge of power management technologies and products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary evangelist for power management products with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners
  • Represent the company at industry, customer and partner events
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in knowledge of market and competitive product trends
  • Present regular market analyses to the leadership team
  • Develop the strategy for Nortek’s power management brands
  • Develop market and product requirements for new power management products
  • Lead the product management function in collaboration with Engineering and Operations during the development of new products
  • Lead the product management function in collaboration with Marketing and Sales to define the go to market strategies for the power management products, and to maximize our opportunities to grow market share
  • Manage the lifecycle of products already in the market
  • Collaborate with Sales & Operations to manage forecasts and product inventory levels throughout the product lifecycle
  • Ensures all department projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in product management managing hardware products
  • General understanding of power, power distribution, and surge protection technologies
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching technology products
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Travel up to 25% of the time

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated proficiency developing business cases for new product introductions.
  • Outstanding public speaking skills

  • Ability to work within and manage multidisciplinary product development teams with a track record of on-time and on-scope delivery
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, suppliers and vendors
  • Able to multi-task, set project priorities, establish task focused goals and objectives for self
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
