Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Varicent Developer with working knowledge of Varicent development to join the Client Compensation Group. 

As the Senior Varicent Developer, you’ll be a Varicent subject matter expert who will be directly accountable for translating sales compensation management requirements into Varicent calculations and report deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/Enhance compensation solutions using Varicent for various incentive plans. 
  • Strong hands-on Experience in Varicent Version 10.
  • Create and implement elegantly coded and effectively tuned solutions that enable high performance and ease of maintenance. 
  • Optimize queries and reports utilized within the platform. 
  • Build, maintain, and extend data models within the Varicent Incentive Compensation Management platform. 
  • Create and troubleshoot Presenter and Presenter Adaptive reports.  
  • Good hands-on experience on Workflow and Webforms.  
  • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to gain a working understanding of business requirements and operational processes.  
  • Support the investigation and troubleshooting of complex business issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 7+ years of development and/or implementation experience using modern technologies. 
  • 6+ years’ development experience implementing Varicent ICM modules (e.g.: Composer, Portal Access, Task Manager, QueryTool, and Presenter) 
  • 2+ Years’ experience with building import (intra-model & query function) processes, workflow processes, calculation logic, reports, and web forms 
  • 2+ years creating controls and documentation including technical specifications, estimation documents, and architectural documents. 

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and business teams 
  • Knowledge of ETL concepts and large-volume data handling between systems 
  • Knowledge of mathematical calculations to summarize and aggregate large volumes of data. 

Preferences:

  • Working knowledge of BI / Reporting Tools (i.e., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy) 
  • Ability to quickly dissect and fix issues in existing Varicent calculations and configurations. 
  • Code proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, Perl, Java, etc.) 
  • Working knowledge of design tools such as Visio, Lucid chart 
  • Experience with DevOps processes including version control, Release Management and CI/CD (e.g. GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins)

Pay Range:

$101,700-$169,500/year


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
