Jack in the Box Inc. is seeking an FP&A Analyst who will be responsible for using strong business acumen and communication skills to support the business by providing concise, actionable financial analysis, enabling key stakeholders within the company to drive business performance. Responsible for developing and regularly maintaining restaurant level financial models for reporting needs, analyzing financial and non-financial performance of both company and franchise restaurants, and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while collaborating cross-functionally throughout the business. Fulfills an integral role of participating in creating and reporting the annual budget and quarterly forecast covering the entirety of the business. Also responsible for supporting ad hoc analyses and due diligence reporting as needed.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains financial models to accurately reflect and assess company and franchise performance including sales, cost of goods sold, labor, and other restaurant managed. Modifies these models to reflect any business changes, management decisions, and market impacts.

Identifies opportunities for improving analysis processes and procedures and provides input in the development of systems, procedures, and controls.

Assists with corporate and field budgeting and forecasting by researching and documenting driving assumptions and testing and analyzing with various scenarios. Participates in preparation of all quarterly and annual related board of director materials.

Partners with the operations team to drive the business forward. Performs regular reviews of both operational and financial metrics to develop a deep understanding of business trends that will then be used to regularly update operations leaders on strengths and opportunities within their individual markets along with variances to budget and forecast.

Identifies lagging and leading indicators, analyzes KPIs as they relate to overall brand and operational execution, and evaluates correlations between performance and key business metrics. Develops tracking techniques and reports to pinpoint trends and alerts management as early as possible.

Works with cross-functional business and technical teams to define the right solution for the problem at hand.

Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.

Experience - Minimum of 3 years of related, advanced financial analysis experience. Multi-unit retail or restaurant industry financial analysis strongly preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial planning applications such as Hyperion, and business intelligence applications such as Tableau.

Advanced Excel skills.

Proficient in distilling large amounts of data into executive level communication with actionable insights.

Ability to see the “big picture” and focus on granular details concurrently.

Self-starter, organized and able to manage multiple priorities (project management).

Excellent and persuasive oral and written English communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person, in Teams/Zoom Meetings and on the telephone, ability to operate a computer keyboard.

The range for this position is $77,100 - $109,700 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
