We are seeking an agile Compensation Manager to join our team of Total Rewards professionals, focused on supporting a growing organization with over 6800 associates. The ideal candidate will help to drive continuous process improvements in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Compensation programs and initiatives, ensuring consistency with the Total Rewards philosophy and alignment with overall strategic objectives. This role will lead the Compensation team, and work closely with the HRBP team and business leaders to provide end-to-end Compensation support. This position may be worked from our Allen, TX; Houston, TX; Lenexa, KS; or Springfield, MO offices or Remote in any of those areas.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement compensation strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes designing competitive salary structures, bonus programs, and other incentive plans.
  • Integrate compensation programs with performance management systems to reward high performers and align rewards with individual and organizational performance goals.
  • Stay abreast of relevant labor laws and regulations pertaining to compensation, such as minimum wage laws, overtime regulations, and pay equity requirements. Ensure that the organization's compensation practices are compliant with these laws.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine compensation programs to ensure their effectiveness and relevance in attracting, retaining, and motivating talent.
  • Partners closely with HRBP leaders to drive Compensation initiatives adding value to assigned client groups
  • Work jointly with Compensation Team, HR Business Partners and other HR teams to identify issues, conduct research/analysis to determine the root cause of any gaps and to recommend solutions to support the Total Rewards philosophy
  • Provides guidance to Analyst(s) on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Manages daily initiatives, questions and communications with regard to compensation for assigned client groups
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance as needed to assigned client groups
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Develops and/or oversees development and delivery of curated training and tools as needed to ensure understanding of the company’s Total Rewards philosophy, strategy and offerings
  • Participates in development and execution of compensation policies and programs
  • Reviews requests for job analysis, including requests for new job titles or changes to existing job descriptions such as grade or FLSA changes and provides guidance to Analyst(s) as needed
  • Reviews and approves job transfers and promotions to ensure appropriate titles and levels are assigned to all employees based on duties, prior experience, and other criteria.
  • Participates in implementation of the annual compensation planning cycle, including systems testing/support, developing timeline and planning materials, and developing and delivering communication materials
  • Participates in analysis of market trends, program competitiveness, and cost implications of JH’s Total Reward programs
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in compensation.
  • 3+ years as a leader in Total Rewards or a human resource function.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • CCP and/or PHR certification.
  • Sales compensation design.
  • Executive compensation support.
