This is a per diem/casual, non-benefitted position with 10-hour shifts, typically from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Shift start times may vary based on department needs. The position is located at both Employee Care Clinics: the Poole Building in La Jolla and the Scripps 550 Building at Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest.

Your job duties:

  • Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practice
  • Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the provider's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the provider
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
